Sprint announces Drive First application for Androids Posted: 26 Mar 2011 03:09 AM PDT Vehicle accidents are frequently caused by drunk drivers and car distractions. The new laws regarding cell phones being used in cars depending on where you live have been put into effect in many different ways. Sprint has announced a new application for Android phones called “Drive First”. This application sends all your phone calls directly to voice mail and all your text messages are auto responded saying that you’ll get back to them later. The application prevents you from using the cell phone while you are driving, it detects if you are in a driving car. We aren’t sure if it’ll lock your phone in a moving train or bus but somehow it detects how you are driving. This feature is available for a charge at $2 per month and parents of teenagers learning to drive should take advantage of this if they want to protect their child from distractions while driving. The new operating system got off to a somewhat rocky start with lack of hardware support and some severe bugs but since the developers have produced polished releases time and time again.

Since the initial product release Apple has followed up with a steady stream of improvements to usability and has added tremendously to its feature set. Developers of computer software have greatly appreciated the product line, too, as it's given them an excellent platform to develop applications on. So, as we celebrate OS X's tenth year what's coming down the pipeline? What innovations can we look forward to coming out of Cupertino? Only time will tell but we can at least look forward to better versions of iOS and the Lion release of OS X towards summer of 2011. Let us know how OS X has had an impact on your life over the last ten years. |
