Nintendo Expecting High 3DS Sales This Weekend

As well as the iPad 2 going on sale in the UK tomorrow, the New Nintendo 3DS also goes on sale and Nintendo are expecting strong sales on launch day and also this weekend.

Nintendo UK told the guys over at CVG that they have already received 140,000 pre-orders of the 3DS here in the UK, and that they are expecting sales to be well over 200,000 by the end of the weekend.Nintendo 3DS(...)

MSI Unveils GX680 Gaming Laptop

MSi has unveiled today its latest laptop gaming creation in the form of the MSi GX680 gaming laptop, which is equipped with a Intel’s second generation Core i7 quad core processor.

Together with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M discrete graphics supporting Direct X 11 and 4 x DDR3 memory slots that can be fitted with a a maximum of 16GB of memory combined with accelerated dual hard disk architecture.

Orange UK Subsidised iPad 2 £199 From Tomorrow

Earlier today we told you that T-Mobile would start offering the iPad 2 here in the UK for a reduced price when customers sign up to a new 24 month contract, and prices started at £199 for existing customers.

Now Orange, which is part of the same company as T-Mobile has confirmed that they will be offering the same deal as T-Mobile to both existing and new customers here in the UK.

Aircell Teases New Aircell Smartphone for Private Jets

If you have been on a commercial flight in the last few years that offered WiFi while in the air, odds are you were using Aircell hardware. Aircell is one of the largest companies in in-flight broadband. The company has all sorts of hardware for WiFi in business jets as well and it has announced a new smartphone.

Canon Expands Pro Portable Projector Line by Five

Canon has added five new projectors to its line of portable projectors for mobile business users and education use. The new projectors all use LCD technology inside and have reasonable prices. They are all very similar on features too with the only real differences being brightness and resolution.

iPad 2 Appears On UK Apple Store

It looks like Apple has already added the new iPad 2 to its UK Apple store, as you will see from the photo below, it shows a button with ‘select and iPad’ and the phrase buy online now.

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like you can actually buy an iPad 2 just yet, it is expected to go on sale on Apple’s online store at 1AM in the morning tomorrow, and you will also be able to buy one from Apple stores around the UK from 5PM tomorrow the 25th of March.

Samsung’s App Store Passes 100 Million Downloads, With 13,000 Apps

Samsung is today celebrating its App Store passing 100 million downloads of mobile and TV applications. The Samung App Store was first opened back in June 2010 and now has a total of 13,000+ applications for Samsung users to download onto their Samsung mobile phones and TV’s.

Users in France were first place downloaders closely followed by Germany and Spain, with the three countries accounting for 40 percent of the total downloads recorded since it opened. Considering the Samsung app store is available in 120 countries worldwide that pretty good going by the Europeans.

Steve Jobs Rejects Radiation Monitoring iPhone App

iPhone apps are rejected from Apple’s App Store all the time, but it looks like one has now been rejected personally by Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs, the app in question is a so called radiation monitoring app, from a company called Tawkon.

It looks like Tawkon tried to capatilize on the recent tragedy in Japan with this app, and Steve Jobs has obviously reviewed the ap himself as he has told the company behind it that Apple has ‘no interest’ in publishing it.

Crysis 2 Complete Trophies List Revealed

If you have been enjoying the new release of Crysis 2 and collecting a few in game trophies along the way, you might be interested in a full list of all the Crysis 2 rewards.

The full list includes all four bands, bronze, silver, gold and platinum and explains what you need to do to unlock them. Theres even a secret trophy for being caught speeding by traffic cameras. View the full list after the jump.

Crysis 2 was released by Electronic Arts on March 22nd for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and is the sequel to the pouplar 2007 Crysis game.

Duke Nukem Forever Delayed Until June (Video)

Duke Nukem Forever was scheduled to finally go on sale in May, after a number of delays, but now it looks like it has been delayed again and it will finally launch in June of 2011.

Gearbox has announced that Duke Nukem Forever will finally go on sale in the US on the 14th Of June 2011 and internationally on the 10th of June 2011.

Patent Reveals Graphic iPhone Interfaces Under Development By Apple

Patents applied for by Apple and recently discovered by Apple Insider show details of a new graphic driven user interface Apple may be working on for its iOS devices.

The Apple patent application which made public by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office after being first filed in September of 2009 and is named “Segmented Graphical Representations for Recommending Elements”. It details a more innovative way of navigating and browsing your way around the iOS system.

Ricoh Updates Firmware For GXR – GR Digital III Cameras

Ricoh has today announced a new firmware update for its GXR and GR Digital II cameras which will be released on the 28th March 2011. The new firmware will provide new AF and AE tracking systems, together  with new scene modes on the cameras.
Allowing any subject that walks across the frame of a shot to remain in focus even though its still moving and wil be added to both GXR and the GR Digital camera bodies. When using the GXR camera it will automatically remember the tracked area, then once played back on the LCD screen if the user enables the Zoom function, that specific area will be magnified.

NVIDIA Releases GeForce GTX 590 Graphics Card

NVIDIA has officially unveiled their latest high end graphics card the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 which they are calling ‘the worlds fastest graphics card’, and according to NVIDIA it is also the worlds quietest as well.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 features a combined 1024 NVIDIA CUDA architecture cores, 3GB of GRDDR5 RAM, and it is designed to deliver the worlds fastest gaming performance for DX11 games.

Firefox 4 Passes 15 Million Downloads

In its first 24hrs Firefox clocked up a impressive 5 million or so downloads over double what Microsofts IE 9 browser could managed. But downloads haven’t stopped and Firefox 4 has now just passed 15 million downloads and is still climbing, around 48 hrs after its official launch.

The new browser has been designed to be the fastest Firefox 4 yet and includes many useful features for organising your favourite websites such as Panorama and App Tabs.

Google Docs Spreadsheets Receives Filtering Feature Update

Google has just made it even easier for you to use spreadsheets on its Google Docs service with the addition of the much needed and highly requested filtering feature.

The filtering system which helps you analyse data in larger spreadsheets and allows you to select a data set, which you can then filter and sort amongst multiple rows at once, to view only the data your require. The addition of the filtering feature now makes it even easier to make the break from Microsofts Excel software.

Boxee iPad App Will Stream Content To Your PC or Mac (video)

The new Boxee iPad App will allow you to stream video content from you iPad to any device on your network loaded with the Boxee software, whether its your PC system or MacBook Pro. The new Boxee 1.1 update expected to land on Boxee D-Link boxes by the end of March, was confirmed by VP of Marketing for Boxee, Andrew Kippen in an interview with Pocket Lint.

Kippen also confirmed in his interview that the app would also support the first generation iPad as well as the new iPad 2 device. The new streaming technology doesn’t use Airplay though but something very similar says Kippen, “kinda like AirPlay, but not quite”.

Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Where’s My Phone Update Released

Yesterday we told you that Microsoft had announced that they would start rolling out the new Windows Phone 7 copy and paste update to WP7 devices, when this was announced Microsoft said that the updates would be staggered.

This left many Windows Phone 7 owners wondering when they would be getting the latest version of Windows Phone 7, and now Microsoft has released Where’s my phone update, so WP7 owners can check when their update will be available.

Microsoft 3D Photo-Realistic Modelling App (video)

Microsoft have released details of a new technology  from its research and development team, who have developed a new phone application that will allow easy creation of photo-realistic 3D models.

The phone application uses a number of photos taken from around the object yout would like to render and then creates a 3D images by stitching and overlapping snapshots to build a photo-realistic 3D model. Watch a video of the new application in action after the jump.

Motorola Working On Their Own Web Based OS?

Motorola has been producing the majority of its new smartphones and tablets with Google Android as its OS, but now it seems that Motorola may have other plans as there are reports that they are working on their own web based operating system.

According to Information Week, Motorola Mobility has hired a number of experienced Web engineers from Adobe and also from Apple, and they are apparently developing a new web based OS as an alternative to Google Android.

Kyocera Echo Dual Screen Smartphone In Action (Video)

Nokia E7 Coming To O2 In May

It looks like the Nokia E7 will be available from UK mobile retailer O2 from May, it was previously scheduled to go on sale in March with some other UK mobile networks although it looks like these will get it in April.

As a reminder, the Nokia E7 comes with a 4 inch AMOLED touchscreen display, there is also a slide out QWERTY keyboard, plus an 8 megapixel camera with a dual LED flash that is can HD video in 720p.

Apple’s AirPlay Coming To TVs?

Apple’s AirPlay lets you play content from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch on your TV set if you have an Apple TV device, you can also share music from iTunes to AirPlay enabled devices.

Now Bloomberg are reporting that Apple may start to license their AirPlay technology to TV manufacturers, which would mean that you wouldn’t need an Apple TV device to watch content on your TV from your iPhone or iPad.

Mortal Kombat PS3 Kratos Teaser (video)

The new remake of the classic game Mortal Kombat thats originally started back in 1992 is due to be released on the PS3 on April 19th in North America and April 18th in the UK.

The new release will include an exclusive character named Kratos, from the God of War series. Who as you can see from the video after the break has some very devastating moves in his arsenal.

George Hotz Denies Fleeing The US To Avoid Sony Lawsuit

Yesterday we told you that George Hotz (Geohot) had left the US for South America, there were report that Geohot has left the country to avoid the Sony PS3 hacking lawsuit against him.

Yahoo Introduces Search Direct

Following in the footsteps of Google’s instant search results. Yahoo has now rolled out its own take on the instant search with Yahoo Search Direct which tackles the feature in a slightly different way to Google.

Yahoo says that their new Search Direct feature is more about finding answers, not links, and will try to provide you with content relevant to your search query and includes a unique design if Google’s constantly changing instant search is not quite for you. Sharp LE820 HDTV With Quattron Quad Pixel Technology (video)

Sharp has today unveiled their new Sharp LE820 HDTV whic is equipped with their new Quattron Quad Pixel Technology which was showcased at CES 2011.

T-Mobile UK Subsidised iPad 2 From £199 Tomorrow

T-Mobile UK will start selling a subsidised iPad 2 here in the UK from 5pm tomorrow and prices start at £199 for existing customers and £229 for new customers for the 16GB WiFi and 3G iPad 2.

T-Mobile just confirmed to us that they will only be selling the 16GB WiFi and 3G iPad 2 from tomorrow, the 32GB and 64GB models will not be available, and customers who want one will have to sign up to a new 2 year contract.

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine Release Window Announced

How does a million-Ork brawl sound to you? Because that’s exactly what you’re getting in the newest Warhammer 40k outing, so if you’re any kind of Space Marine August can’t come soon enough. Or if you’d just like a helping of  third person shooter action, that would probably work too.

If you’re new to Warhammer though, despite the *ahem* similarities between the game’s universe, art direction and whatever else and that of other games, just keep in mind that whatever it is, Warhammer probably did it first. Before you were born.

I’m not entirely sure whether this is Hudson’s vote of no confidence for the entire platform or just some spring cleaning after being bought by Konami, but if you were incredibly excited for Bomberman on your hypothetical 3DS even though your toaster probably has a port of it by now, as well as Omega Five and Bonk, you might want to sit down.

Well that moral crusade didn’t last long. Gorge Hotz, iPhone and most recently and litigiously, PS3 hacker supreme has reportedly left the US for altogether more South American pastures while frustrating Sony’s attempts to seize his hard drives, PS3s, toothbrush and Playboy collection.
