When the Apple Store online started selling the iPad 2, the store went offline briefly and many customers had trouble ordering the iPad 2, and the next day the shipping times of the iPad 2 were 3 to 4 weeks. Android Quickoffice Pro Receives Cloud Storage Posted: 28 Mar 2011 07:28 AM PDT Quickoffice has released a new update to Quickoffice Pro for Android available on devices running Gingerbread, Froyo and Éclair (2.0-2.3). The new update brings with it new editing features together with faster file loading, scrolling and zooming, integrated contextual search, text-to-speech via Google PDF viewing, together with performance improvements throughout the application. The update has now also added cloud storage options with integration with accounts on Box.net, Google Docs, Dropbox, Huddle, SugarSync and MobileMe, allowing you to keep your data safe and synced to use on any number of other devices.

Now it looks like the HTC Flyer will also be headed to another mobile network in the US, T-Mobile and it is expected to hit T-Mobile some time this summer. Pioneer Launch New Noise Cancelling Earbud Headphones Posted: 28 Mar 2011 06:34 AM PDT I have always enjoy wearing my full ear cup noise cancelling headphones, but sometimes they can be a little large for certain situations. If you find the same or are looking for a small pair of noise cancelling earbud headphones, Pioneer have just released a new addition to their range in the form of their new SE-NC31C-K. The SE-NC31C-K are capable of removing up to 90% of ambient noise, the noise reduction can be turned off if required, but will still allow you to listen to your audio. They are also equipped with a “Monitor” button that mutes the music and turns off noise-cancellation quickly so that you can hear the sounds around you when needed. Amazon Android App Store Lets You Try Before You Buy Posted: 28 Mar 2011 06:15 AM PDT Amazon have started rolling out a new feature to their Android App Store that now allows you to try applications before you buy. The new feature called ‘Test Drive’ is an online emulator that allows you to try the Android app within the browser. Giving Amazon another point against Google’s Android Market which doesn’t have a try before you buy services at the moment. The new ‘Test Drive’ feature is only available to users in the US at the moment and does have a few restrictions as to what can and cant be carried out within the testing feature. The service is also not currently available on every app in the Amazon App Store but is available on a few hundred apps and more are being added daily.

Real-Life Tron Lightcycle Creators Build Green Machine With Harley-Davidson Evo Engine Posted: 28 Mar 2011 05:15 AM PDT Parker Brothers Custom Choppers the team that brought you the real-life Tron Lightcycle have now recreated the children’s Green Machine cart toy as a real-life vehicle fitted with a Harley-Davidson Evo Engine. The man sized Green Machine is also fitted with a 45 inch front wheel for which Parker Brothers have contacted the Guinness Book of Records for the worlds largest wheel on a motorcycle. Even the driving mechanism on the larger Green Machine works in the same way as on its toy brother, pictured after the jump. Google Working With Mastercard And Citigroup On NFC Payments Posted: 28 Mar 2011 04:33 AM PDT We already know that Google has been working on a Near Field Communications (NFC) payment system, we recently saw the launch of Google’s new Smartphone which features NFC built in the Google Nexus S. Now the WSJ are reporting that Google is working with MasterCard and also Citigroup on NFC payments, and according to the report the payment system would let customers who use Citigroup debit cards to pay for things via NFC with an NFC enabled mobile application on their smartphone. Firefox 4 Browser Jumps to 5 Percent Global Usage Share Posted: 28 Mar 2011 04:23 AM PDT With downloads of Mozilla’s new Firefox 4 browser now approaching 40 million downloads since it was released last Tuesday. It doesn’t come as much of a surprise to see it now jump in to a global usage share of around 5 percent, leaving Microsoft’s new IE9 down in a pitiful 1.5 percent share. Even though the release of Microsofts IE9 launch was backed by the biggest advertising campaigns the company has ever seen in recent history, you can already see the huge surge of Firefox 4 from its launch day release. Buffalo Unveils BDXL Portable Blu-ray Burner Posted: 28 Mar 2011 03:41 AM PDT Buffalo has released details of it new Blu-ray writer equipped with the BDXL standard allowing you to use 100GB and 128GB disks if required and is able to store up to 100 GB on three layers and 128 GB on four. GameLoft has explained their exclusivity deal with Amazon is mainly due to the recent malware problems which has afflicted the Android Marketplace. With GameLoft looking for a safe way to distribute its titles to Android gamers, but also expressing that Amazon’s DRM was also another reason why they made the choice to go with Amazon App Store exclusivity. Condor PlayStation 3 Supercomputer Now Online Posted: 28 Mar 2011 01:01 AM PDT We have heard previously about supercomputers built using Sony’s PlayStation 3, and now one built by the Air Force, called Condor has now gone online and is fully operational, it was developer by Rome Labs for the Air Force. Condor is built from a total of 1,716 PS3s, and has cost the Air Force a lot less to build than if they had built a custom supercomputer from scratch, but this PS3 supercomputer is as fast as some of the world’s most expensive ones and is now in the top 40 fastest supercomputers in the world. Judge Says Apple Did Not Infringe On Nokia Patents Posted: 27 Mar 2011 11:27 PM PDT Nokia and Apple have been suing each other since last year, the lawsuits relate to a number of patents for Nokia mobile devices and also patents for Apple’s iPhone. The International Trade Commission has been looking into both companies claims, and one judge has made a ruling on Nokia’s claim that Apple has infringed on five of Nokia’s patents.
