Having written about my expectations for predictive systems, I was approached by Numenta, a company started by Jeff Hawkins and Donna Dubinski of Palm/Handspring.
“Numenta has created a cloud-based prediction engine for streaming data called Grok. The Grok engine automatically discovers patterns in data streams, enabling your applications to predict future values and detect anomalies.” The company’s homepage ends with, “We are working with a small number of beta developers to test and refine Grok’s features. We plan to launch Grok publicly in 2013. If you are a developer who wants to exploit the untapped value of your streaming data, Grok can help.”
