GridMaven, a SK Telecom (News - Alert) Americas company, just announced that it has deployed its GridMaven Network Manager in an island outside Korea - Jeju Island - to start testing its smart grid. GridMaven's network Manager now runs in the SmartPlace Network Operations Center, allowing utility companies to fully control the AMI, backhaul, home, and electric vehicle networks without a hitch.
GridMaven Network Manager (GNM) runs on a software platform, letting any electrical utility network operator fully monitor its performance and faults through different layers of technologies. Instead of the old decentralized approach that often tangled all of the technologies that utility operators adopted, GNM allows them to put this all into one pot, making the job of managing the entire network something more fluid.
