The Russia Investigation

The Wall Street Journal published a bombshell scoop on Friday morning: Special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating whether former national security adviser Michael Flynn discussed with the Turkish government forcibly removing the Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen from US soil in exchange for $15 million — during the presidential transition.

Lawfare editor-in-chief Ben Wittes said it best: "Just let this sink in over your morning coffee: Robert Mueller is investigating whether the incoming National Security Adviser—during the presidential transition—was planning a kidnapping and rendition."

Meanwhile, Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell, a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said he wants to know whether Russia paid for early Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos' travels throughout Europe last year. Papadopoulos met at least twice with a professor named Joseph Mifsud, who told him in April 2016 that the Russians had "dirt" on Hillary Clinton.
