The Russia Investigation Former FBI Director Louis Freeh was hired by the Russian-owned real-estate firm Prevezon.

Former FBI Director Louis Freeh represented the Russian-owned firm Prevezon during its settlement negotiations with the US government earlier this year. Prevezon's main lawyer in Russia is Natalia Veselnitskaya, who attended a meeting last year with top Trump campaign officials to lobby against the Magnitsky Act. Freeh's work with Prevezon could be of interest to House Democrats, who asked the Justice Department earlier this year why the government unexpectedly settled the money-laundering case in May.
I also learned that the notorious far-right blogger and troll, Chuck Johnson, may have played a role in provoking WikiLeaks' outreach to Donald Trump Jr. last September. Trump Jr. has come under renewed scrutiny this week amid revelations that he exchanged private Twitter messages with the anti-secrecy group during the campaign.
BI's video team and I will be interviewing The Guardian's Luke Harding on Friday about his new book, "Collusion: Secret Meetings, Dirty Money, and How Russia Helped Donald Trump Win." It is a fantastic read, and there is a particularly interesting quote from "dossier" author Christopher Steele about the need to examine every land and hotel deal Trump made, or tried to make, with Russia while he was still a private citizen.
