Netflix has announced that starting tomorrow the US comedy series called “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” will be available to streaming subscribers in the UK and Ireland.

| TomTom Now Selling GPS Devices at Chevy Dealers across the US Posted: 31 Jan 2012 11:24 AM PST TomTom has announced it is now selling two of its higher-end GPS units at Chevrolet dealerships across the US. This is an odd move considering that Chevrolet offers GPS navigation as a feature on many of its vehicles. I would’ve thought Chevy would not want the competition from cheaper add-on devices.

Once installed it was also discovered that the leaked ROM also provided an update to the handsets baseband.

| Apple Motion 5.0.2 Update Rolls Out, Adding Improved Speed And Responsiveness Posted: 31 Jan 2012 08:29 AM PST Joining the new update rolled out by Apple today for their Final Cut Pro X video editing software. Apple has also rolled out an update for its Motion 5.0.2 software. Motion 5 provides Final Cut Pro X users with additional tools to tweak and customise video footage, and is available to purchase for $50. Enabling users to create and edit motion graphics, titling for video production and film production, and 2D and 3D compositing for visual effects. The new update released today is around 1.05GB in size and improves speed and responsiveness of text editing.

| Samsung’s Super Bowl Launch Is For The US Galaxy Note Posted: 31 Jan 2012 07:20 AM PST Earlier today we heard that Samsung would be launching a new device during next Sunday’s Super Bowl, the news came from Samsung on Twitter, and it turns out that the device Samsung ill be launching is one we have already seen, the US Samsung Galaxy Note. So unfortunately it looks like we wont see a new tablet announced or the new Samsung Galaxy S II, so I guess we will have to wait until next month at MWC 2012 to see what Samsung has to unveil.

| Panasonic Lumix FX80 Compact Camera Announced Posted: 31 Jan 2012 06:03 AM PST We have already seen a couple of new compact camera from Panasonic today, and now we have another new one, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX80, which comes with a bright F2.5 LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMARIT lens. According to the announcement, the F2.5 lens is 25 percent brighter than the F2.8 lens, and it offers a faster shutter speed, and is capable of capturing clear blur free images even in low light.

| Apple Appeals iPad Trademark Ruling In China Posted: 31 Jan 2012 05:15 AM PST Apple doesn’t own the trademark for the ‘iPad’ in China, the company lost a court case where it was trying to obtain the trademark in China back in December of last year. Now Apple has filed an appeal with the courts in China in an attempt to get hold of the iPad trademark in the country, the ‘iPad’ trademark is owned by a company called Proview.

| Windows Phone Tango To Offer Support For Up To 120 Languages? Posted: 31 Jan 2012 04:41 AM PST The current version of Microsoft’s mobile operating system, Windows Phone 7.5 mango has support for a total of 35 different languages, and now it would appear that Microsoft will be increasing this in the next major version of Windows Phone. According to a recent report, Microsoft intends to add in an additional 85 languages in Windows Phone Tango, which would take the supported languages up to a total of 120.

| WiGig High Speed Short Range SD Cards Demonstrated, Transferring DVD’s In Just 60 Seconds Posted: 31 Jan 2012 04:32 AM PST Panasonic has this week been demonstrating its new WiGig SD memory cards that have been designed to provide a simple solution for short-range high speed data transfers. The new WiGig gigabit wireless communications technology has been under development for some time and was first featured back in June 2011 here on Geeky Gadgets. WiGig is embedded on an SD memory card, and Panasonic has revealed how it can be used to transmit videos, photos and other local data from a wireless controller such as a tablet, to the displays mounted in the passenger seats of a car. | EU Launches Investigation Into Samsung Over Mobile Patents Posted: 31 Jan 2012 03:58 AM PST It looks like Samsung is the latest company that will come under scrutiny of the European regulators, as the European Commission has announced that it will be investigating Samsung over certain mobile patents. Samsung has launched a number of lawsuits relating to their mobile patents, some against Apple, and the EU will now investigate whether these lawsuits are against an agreement Samsung made back in 1998.

| Self Guided Direction Changing Smart Bullets Unveiled By US Military Posted: 31 Jan 2012 03:29 AM PST If you have seen the film Wanted starring Angelina Jolie you might remember the scene in which a bullet is able to be curved to a target by changing its course. Science fiction? Not any more, the US Military has now unveiled a new type of bullet that can do just that and can guide itself to a target, automatically changing its path as its flies. Sandia National Laboratories has long been at work with the United States military developing the ultimate "smart bullet." It announced today that a successful prototype of the bullet was created and tested at distances of over a mile (about 2,000 meters).

| AMD Radeon HD 7950 Graphic Card Launches Posted: 31 Jan 2012 03:09 AM PST AMD has this week launched a new graphics card to its range in the form of the AMD Radeon HD 7950 based on the same 28nm Graphics Core Next GPU as the AMD Radeon HD 7970, code-named Tahiti. In comparison the Radeon HD 7950 is a slightly cut down version clocked at 800MHz compared to the HD 7970′s 925MHz. Even though it clocked under 1 GHz there have been rumours that Taiwanese graphics card manufacturer may very soon be launching overclocked Radeon HD 7950 cards for sale.

The tablet was banned from sale in Germany, and Samsung released a new model with some design changes, the Galaxy Tab 10.N, although Samsung has been trying to have the original ban overturned.
