| | | | | | | | | | After Losing Its Star Writers, Engadget's Traffic Has Gone Up
When AOL's Engadget lost its roster of star editors and reporters, the natural assumption for many people in the tech-media world was that it was in big trouble.
Well, guess what? Engadget is doing just fine without those writers. We asked comScore for data on the site, and as you can see, traffic has actually picked up slightly since Joshua Topolsky, Nilay Patel, and all the rest left to start The Verge. Right before those guys left, traffic was actually trending down, probably due to the tech news cycle.
Overall, Engadget's traffic is somewhat flatover the last two years, but that's part of the challenge of being one of the biggest tech sites in the world. It's hard to get a new audience. Plus, you can't blame that on editoral turnover.
