Ouku Tab is One of the Cheapest Android Tablets Around

Lightinthebox has announced that it now has one of the cheapest Android tablets you will find available to sell. The tablet goes for only $125 and the hardware is on par with that low price. I would want a review somewhere before buying the thing personally.

The docks compact design allows you to save space on your desk by providing a sync connection for your iPhone, iPod together with 500GB external storage via a single USB 2.0 cable and whilst docked the Buffalo Dualie will also charge your Apple device.

The Buffalo Dualie does require an extra power adapter supply to function and this plugs into the rear of the dock, where there are also 2 x USB 2.0 ports and 1 x mini USB port.

D-Link Unveil Wireless Nano USB Adapters

D-link has unveiled a new line of tiny wireless Nano USB adapters which are perfect if you have an older wifi card installed on your laptop or computer and need a quick and easy way to upgrade with the minimal amount of protrusion.

The DWA-131 includes the latest 11n technology which use Intelligent Antenna technology to transmit multiple streams of data providing a faster and more resilient Wi-Fi connection.

AT&T Announces HTC HD7S Windows Phone 7 Smartphone

As well as announcing the new LG Thrill 4G, AT&T also added another new smartphone to their range, the HTC HD7S, which is basically an AT&T branded version of HTC Windows Phone 7 HD7.

The HTC HD7S features a WVGA 4.3 inch touchscreen display, there is also a five megapixel camera that can record High Definition video in 720p, and it looks like the AT&T HD7S features a new Super LCD display.

Google Fined $142,000 By CNIL For French Street View Data Collection

France and the National Commission for Information Freedom (CNIL) has fined Google $142,000 or €100,000 after finding the Internet giant guilty of collecting private data and then not not keeping to its pledge to erase all the private data it has collected. Finding that Google had used the data to identify wi-fi access points.

Google Street Cars had scanned Wi-Fi networks as they photographed French streets together with unencrypted data from these networks caught at the same time. Yet the UK's Information Commissioner (ICO) ruling that Google did no harm while collecting unauthorised Wi-fi data. A decision that outraged and angered privacy campaigners in the UK.

LG Thrill 4G (Optimus 3D) Headed To AT&T

AT&T and LG have announced a new smartphone, the LG Thrill 4G, which is basically the AT&T branded version of the LG Optimus 3D. The LG Thrill 4G features a dual core 1GHz processor, and it will come with Android 2.2 Froyo.

The LG Thrill 4G features a 4 inch touchscreen display, which is capable of displaying 3D video without the need for 3D glasses, and it also features dual five megapixel stereoscopic cameras that can record HD 3D video in 720p.

Apple iOS 4.3.1 Arriving In the Next Couple Of Weeks?

According to BGR sources, Apple will be rolling out a new iOS update 4.3.1 within the next couple of weeks. The new update comes less than a month after iOS 4.3 was released by Apple.

The new iOS 4.3.1 update brings with it some minor bug fixes to correct issues with memory hang that results in memory corruption when reading large files from USIM filesystem. Together with fix for a problem with NTLM authentication in apps and on websites.

Google Voice Integrated Into Sprint

As well as announcing the new Google Nexus S 4G for Sprint, Google also announced that Google Voice will now be integrated with Sprint, allowing users of Sprint’s network to use their existing Sprint mobile number for Google Voice.

Sprint customers can also choose to replace their Sprint number with their Google Voice number when making calls and sending text messages from their Sprint mobile phone.

Sprint Google Nexus S 4G To Cost $199.99

Earlier today Google officially announced the new Nexus S 4G for Sprint in the US, when it was announced Sprint hadn’t released any information on pricing and they details are now available, the Nexus S 4G will retail for $199.99 with a new two year contract.

The Google Nexus S 4G features a 4 inch Super AMOLED display, processing is provided by a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, and it comes with 16GB of storage built in.

Energizer Unveils Qi-Enabled Single-Zone Inductive Charger

Energizer has unveiled a new addition to its inductive charging range, that allow you to charge your devices simply by laying it on a charging pad.

The new Energizer Qi-Enabled Single-Zone Inductive charger allows you to recharge just one device rather than the larger inductive chargers released by Energizer last year. Being Qi enabled allows the new chargers to be used with any battery cases that support Qi.

Toshiba Launches New External Hard Drives

Toshiba has added a couple of new external hard drives to its range with the launch of the Store Alu2S and the Store Steel S10, and these new external hard drives support US 3.0 and are also compatible with USB 2.0.

Both of these new external USB 3.0 hard drives from Toshiba offer data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps, and the Store Alu2S comes in a range of different sizes which include 500GB, 640GB, 750GB, 1TB, 1.5TB and 2.5TB.

eBook Sales Increase 115 Percent In January

A report released by the Association of American Publishers, shows sales of eBooks in January 2011 rose over 115 percent when compared to the same month the year before. With net sales of eBooks totalling $69.9 million during January 2011, up from $32.4 million in January 2010.

The report also shows that paperback books sales are continuing to fall by 30 percent year-over-year. With adult hardcover book sales falling from $55.4 million in January 2010 to $49.1 million in 2011 dropping 11.3 percent.

Google Nexus S 4G For Sprint Announced

Google has just announced the Google Nexus S 4G for Sprint in the US, which has been developed in conjunction with Samsung, and it features a 4 inch display plus a 1GHz hummingbird processor, plus front and rear facing cameras, NFC and 16GB of built in storage.

Alienware M11X R3 Specifications Revealed

Dell has released the preliminary specifications an options for it new Alienware M11X R3 laptop, but unfortunately has not released any images of the new piece of kit as yet.

The released specification although not complete does detail the CPU options that include three: a Core i5-2537M, a Core i7-2617M, and a Core i7-2675M option. Together with the option to add up to 8GB  1333MHz RAM.

Sony Working On VAIO Hybrid Notebook With Thunderbolt

It looks like Sony is working on a new type of Vaio notebook, which could possibly compete with Apple’s ultra slim MacBook Air, although this new Vaio notebook would still have the majority of the functions of a full sized notebook, through a second add on unit.

According to a report from Sony Insider, who has obtained some exclusive information about this new Vaio notebook, it will feature Intel’s Thunderbolt technology, and it will consist of an ultra slim notebook, with a Core i7 processor, SSD, no optical drive and HDMI out with 3D support.

Eee Pad Transformer Arrives In Taiwan On Friday

Asustek has announced that they will be launching their new tablet PC on Friday this week in Taiwan. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer is one of the first tablets to be equipped with Google’s Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS specially designed for tablets.

The new Eee Pad Transformer allows you to benefit from both the portability of a tablet device with touchscreen capabilities and also provides the comfort of being able to use a full QWERTY keyboard add-on that transforms the tablet into a notebook style PC. The additional keyboard also provides additional power for the device adding an an extra 8 hours of life, doubling the tablets exiting life of 8 hours to 16 hours of useful juice.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini Leaked

It looks like Samsung has a new Android smartphone in the works, and this one will be based on the new Samsung Galaxy S2, the Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini.

The guys over at Engadget, were sent an internal document from UK mobile operator Three, which shows this new Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini Android smartphone along with some specifications.

Creative ZiiO Tablets Receiving Froyo Updates

If you own a Creative ZiiO tablet you will be pleased to know that the devices will soon be receiving an update to Froyo, Google’s Android 2.2 release.  Creative is expected to roll out the new OS update to its 7 inch device this Friday with the 10 inch version software update following shortly after.

The Creative ZiiO tablets were launched late last year and the new updates bring the option to either  install apps using either on-board memory or external storage media and the ability to choose to either view pages in both desktop and mobile formats.

Sony Launches Four New PC Headsets

Sony has launched four new PC headsets designed to be used for gaming, VoiP, and music, the four models are the Sony DR-GA100 which is designed for PC gaming, the Sony DR-ZX103USB and DR-ZX102DPV which are designed for music, video and VoIP, plus the Sony DR-EX13DPV in ear headset which is designed for VoIP.

First up is the Sony DR-GA100 gaming headset, which is designed specifically for gaming, and it comes with a noise cancelling boom microphone, and they are designed to be comfortable when worn for long periods of time.

Disabling Ping Improves Your iPad And iPhone Battery Life

If you have noticed a decrease in your battery life on your iOS device since upgrading to the latest Apple release of iOS 4.3. It could be due to the Ping service running in the background on the device. User tests have recently shown that by disabling the Ping feature on your Apple device, you can receive a noticeable increase in battery life on your device.

Once disabled your battery should then return to a life close to its limits before the iOS 4.3 was installed, allowing you to carry on with your daily business, without having to worry about the next charging point.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Gameplay Unveiled (video)

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is the third game in the Deus Ex game series and currently being developed by Eidos Montreal, who confirmed the release date for their new game will be August 23, 2011 in the US and August 26, 2011 in Europe.

As with other Deus Ex games you'll have the chance to advance through the game in multiple and vastly different ways, where every choice you make has a lasting consequence within the game and your advancement.

It will also contain new enemies to encounter that are controlled by squad leaders. Once engaged if you can take out the squad leader of the attacking parties the rest of the members fall into disarray.

Amazon’s Android App Store Launching Tomorrow?

Last week we saw a sneak preview of Amazon’s new Android app store, when it appeared on Amazon briefly, and now there are reports that the Amazon Android App store will go live tomorrow on the 22nd of March.

When the Amazon App store was leaked last week there were a total of 48 applications for Android listed on their website, along with prices, and we are expecting many more to be available when it launches.

The Tunnel : First Movie Simultaneous Released On DVD And BitTorrent (video)

The Tunnel, will be the first movie to be released both simultaneously on DVD and BitTorrent and has been created to try and break down the barriers with movies distribution online using downloads via BiTorrent services.

The Australian movie is the first being produced under a new funding process called "The 135K Project." where the funding is raised online and allows the film to then be released online for free. Each frame was given a $1 price tag and there are 135,000 frames in the 90 movie.

Microsoft Kinect Hacked To Work On PS3 (Video)

We have featured quite a few different Microsoft Kinect hacks here at Geeky Gadgets, the latest one is by Shantanu Goal, who has managed to get the Kinect working with his PlayStation 3.

The Kinect is hooked up to his laptop, which is then connected to his PS3, you can see it working in the video below.

Hawaii To Go Electric With Widespread Installation Of EV Chargers

Facebook Buys Mobile App Developer Snaptu

Facebook has purchased mobile application developer Snaptu, the company produces applications for less powerful mobile phones than smartphones and produces a number of applications including a Facebook app.

The company launched their Facebook app earlier this year, and the application is available on a total of 2,500 different mobile phones, the app will obviously now become an official Facebook app.

Google Says China Is Blocking Gmail

Google has announced that users of its Gmail email service in China are unable to access the service, and that it is being blocked by the Chinese government, and has been made to look like there is a technical problem with Gmail for users in China.

The new comes after weeks of protests in the middle east, where the news about the protests was spread using online social media services like Facebook and Twitter, and email services like Gmail.

AT&T To Buy T-Mobile In The US

US mobile operator AT&T has announced that intends to purchase T-Mobile USA fro Deutsche Telekom, in a deal worth $39 billion in cash and stock.

AT&T has also announced that they will be delivering 4G LTE to an additional 46 million people throughout the US, which would give them around 95 percent coverage of the US population.

Adobe Releases Flash 10.2 For Android

Adobe has released its latest version of Flash for mobile devices, Adobe Flash 10.2 which brings Flash to a range of Android devices including Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablets like the Motorola Xoom.
