Uber's Self-Driving Cars Leave California After feuding with California regulators for a week, Uber's self-driving cars are leaving the state.
State regulators dealt a death blow to Uber's hopes for its self-driving car program in the state by revoking the registration of the 16 autonomous vehicles. This forced the ride-hailing service to shut down its pilot program in San Francisco.
The cars left for Arizona on the back of a self-driving truck on Thursday morning.
Arizona governor Doug Ducey said in a statement that it welcomes Uber's self-driving cars with open arms and open roads.
