Featured Articles This is Windows 10 launch week and things are going pretty well. Unlike some rumors to the contrary, the OEMs are ready with preloads and so far, the systems I've looked at are very clean. Not a lot of crapware (in fact I haven't seen any yet but I'm sure someone will disappoint me) and very little breakage. Let's talk about some of the tools and what the experience is like. It is far too simple to say Chattanooga's high-speed fiber optic network is the cornerstone to the city's future growth. While city leaders and operator EPB have embraced the slogan of GigCity along with Fastest network connectivity in the Western Hemisphere to underline deployment of one gigabit fiber connectivity to all residences and businesses, it is only one piece of a much larger puzzle fostering entrepreneurship. The bad news on the cyberattack front got a whole lot worse with a story from Bloomberg by reporters Michael Riley and Jordan Robertson that revealed evidence that a group of China-tied hackers are responsible not only for the recent major data breaches at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and health insurer Anthem but also an until now not disclosed one at United Airlines (UAL) that was unrelated to the glitch that brought operations to a halt for several hours a few weeks ago. Payment startup company Stripe has scored a whopping round of funding, with Visa taking a major interest in the company's technology. The funding amount is open to speculation, with some sources claiming Visa alone contributed $5 billion. Since what follows is about legal matters, let me start with the disclosure that I am not a lawyer, have no legal training and this is not an attempt to play an attorney on the Internet. That said, a very important decision was recently handed down here in the U.S. by the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals that, to say the least, should command everyone's attention.
