It seems to be a big month for over-the-top (OTT) messaging app updates. First Voxox brought its free OTT app to Android last week, alongside an update to the iOS version of the app, then WISeKey released WISePhone 3 on Monday. Now Voxofon, a rapidly growing provider of OTT voice and messaging services, has released an update to its namesake app, which includes native support for the iPad.
Voxofon 5.1’s native iPad capabilities — optimization for the device’s screen size and resolution, namely — are a first for the company and are still a relative rarity among OTT communications apps in general.
This release comes just in time for the pre-holiday launch of the newly announced iPad Air, which is likely to cause a surge in iPad sales.
