I have heard it said that luck is blamed when opportunity meets preparedness.
The Platforms of M2M are certainly prepared for the next wave of adoption. In manufacturing and several other uses, AT&T and Axeda (News - Alert) are joining me on a webinar about Manufacturing with M2M. What I like about this discussion is that it takes a great deal of complexity and gets us back to the basics.
In my long (and not so illustrious) career, I have been enamored with Total Managed Networks [TMN or TNM for some], Activity Based Costs [ABC ] and Total Quality Management [TQM]. However, almost always the acronyms were the only thing that shortened the process and the strategies were abandoned.
Although, with M2M, the human factors are now reduced and the machines have a chance to provide the information we need. For this reason I think we are turning the corner and Business Intelligence [BI] is going to go through a transition that takes us beyond CRM.
That’s part of what I will be listening for on October 2, when we have the free precon in M2M called the Battle of the Platforms. I am looking for the platform strategies that give the human insight without having to play Sherlock or Columbo... Read More
