Air Travel Statistics Show Increase in Flights Despite TSA Measures

The Transportation and Security Agency, or TSA, has gotten a lot of fire a few months ago, as it started a campaign to effectively thwart all terroristic threats in airports. This was done during the holiday seasons, were a year ago, there were many threats to security. Because of these possibilities, the TSA organized stricter measures of security, which included getting inside x-ray machines which left nothing to imagination. If you didn’t agree with this, a pat down procedure is an option, which many feel is to invasive. Now, a full assessment can be done to determine how that affected the travel business over those months where TSA’s policies started taking into effect. Surprisingly to some, the results showed that the more aggressive search techniques did not hinder the growth of travel in the United States. In fact, the largest increase in traffic of passengers for air travels was recorded for this year, after more than three years. Many did not expect this increase, because although the TSA may have some justification for doing the aggressive pat downs with the rising threats of terroristic nature, many feel that these procedures are too much of an invasion of privacy. The airline statistics from the United States Department of Transportation showed that there was a 6.1 percent increase during November.
