GeoBlue Upgraded its GeoBlue App to Provide Healthcare Benefits to Travelers

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

GeoBlue a provider of health care needs for travelers released an update to its GeoBlue member app that is available on iOS, Android (News - Alert) and Amazon Kindle devices. GeoBlue is the trade name for the international health insurance programs of worldwide insurance services, an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.

Liz Dunlavey, Managing Director for GeoBlue said, "GeoBlue is committed to providing convenient solutions that allow our members to manage their health care without the added stress of dealing with cumbersome administrative processes."

"We leverage technology to limit members' out-of-pocket expenses, but in the event it’s necessary to file a claim, using the app allows members to start the claims process right away, allowing us to reimburse them as quickly as possible," Dunlavey added.

Using the GeoBlue app all members can easily access local doctors, hospitals and resources where ever they are. Also members will be able to locate medical providers and make appointments with them in addition to paying directly to them via GeoBlue. The app is available on the App Store, Google (News - Alert) Play and Amazon.com.

The new update to the app has added more features using which members can connect to local quality care and get access to safety concerns that are typical to their destination.

Users can now file a claim by entering information in the app or by sending a photo of a completed form. They can gain access to issued guarantees of payment that they can view and share with doctors and hospitals. In case of critical need users can display insurance ID card on a mobile device and E-mail/fax a copy to a provider’s office directly from the app.

In addition, the app allows users to look up the local brand name and formulation for medications in forty-two countries including Bahamas, Cyprus, Jamaica, Jordan, Panama, Philippines and Turkey..Read More
