A young and barely pubescent 12-year-old named James Hardman built his first prototype of a 17-inch tablet that runs the Windows Vista operating system. The young inventor now wants to market and deploy a 17-inch Windows 7 tablet, so long as investors are interested in what his company, called Aurkron, has to offer.
From what we've seen in pictures of the tablet running Windows, the device uses an enormous 17-inch TFT touchscreen with several built-in connectors for USB peripherals. It even has a display adapter for VGA and DVI screens. In fact, the tablet clearly resembles a laptop without the lid. Comparing the tablet to a laptop is like comparing a flip phone to an open-screen smartphone. Both perform the same functions, but the design is rather different.
The young man obviously loves tablets enough to build one himself, but he believes that some tablets just can't satisfy everyone. He is particularly unsatisfied with the small size of the screens offered in most tablets, which usually have portability in mind when they're designed, and they often are meant to be used by people on the go without having to sit down. Hardman wants to push the 10-inch limit by far, though, making the tablet have a screen comparable to one on a laptop.
