Opera has today taken the opportunity at Mobile World Congress 2012 to launch its new Opera Mini Next. A preview version of its next steps for its Opera Mini mobile browser. Together with the launch of its final Opera Mobile 12, which will bring more features to Android and Symbian smartphones.

HTC One X In Action (Video)

Earlier today we heard about HTC’s new flagship smartphone, the HTC One X, which is powered by a quad core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, and now we have a hands on video of the device thanks to the guys over at Pocket Now.

The HTC One X comes with a quad core 1.5GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and it features a 4.6 inch HD Super LCD 2 touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, have a look at the video of it in action below.

Vimeo has rolled out a new update to its iOS application this week taking it to Vimeo 2.0. The update comes just under a year since the launch of the original iOS application, and brings with it a number of great new features for iOS owners.

The new Vimeo 2.0 brings with it support of Apple’s iPad with a specially tailor made iPad user interface, and is compatible with iOS devices running iOS 4.3 and above.

We have been hearing about Huawei’s new MediaPad Android tablet for the last couple of weeks, we got a brief look at the device on the weekend, and it is now official and we have full details on the new Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD.

The Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD features a 10 inch IPS high definition touchscreen display and its is powered by Huawei’s new 1.5GHz K3 quad core processor that we heard about earlier in the new Huawei Ascend D Quad.

Just over a week ago Canonical unveiled their new Ubuntu for Android, and said that even though they would not be revealing a full product they would be showcasing it at MWC 2012.

One device that is missing from this years Mobile World Congress is Samsung’s new flagship Galaxy S smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S III, which Samsung have said that they will launch at a separate event later in the year.

We have been hearing rumors about the new Samsung Galaxy S III over the last few months, and now according to a recent report the device will come with a 4.8 inch display, no details on the specifications of the display as yet.

LG To Make Google’s Next Nexus Android Device?

With every major release of Android, Google has released a new device under its Nexus range which has been made by a different manufacturer, the latest one was the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with the launch of Android 4.0, which you can see in the photo below.

With Android 5.0 rumored to be coming later this year, Google are expected to choose another manufacturer to make their next Nexus device which would debut at the same time as Android Jelly Bean.

ION Air Mouse Glove, Offers Another Option For Motion Control (video)

There are already a number of devices that enable you to control systems with motion, such as Microsoft’s Kinect and Sony’s Motion controller. But Bellco have now designed a unique controller it hopes will provide another motion control option.

The ION Air Mouse has been designed as a glove which is worn by the user and can control a computers cursor up to 35 feet away. You can view the ION Air Mouse in action after the jump, but it looks as though you will need a little practise to use it effectively .

Fujitsu Demos Quad Core Tegra 3 Prototype Android Smartphone

Last week we heard a rumor that Fujitsu would be showing off a new quad core Tegra 3 smartphone at this years Mobile World Congress, and it looks like the device is in the prototype stages at the moment.

The guys from The Verge have managed to get their hands on this new Tegra 3 smartphone from Fujitsu, which looks like it will be headed to the US and Europe when it launches later in the year.

Intel Confirms Its Ivy Bridge Platform Is Delayed

We have been hearing rumors over the last few weeks that Intel’s new Ivy Bridge processors and platform had been delayed, well now it would appear that the rumors were correct.

Intel has now confirmed that its Ivy Bridge platform has been delayed, the news comes for a senior Intel employee and the Ivy Bridge processor wont be landing in April as we had previously heard.

It has been a long time coming but today Skype has today launched a beta version of their communication software designed for Windows Phone users.

The new Skype for Windows Phone now enables owners of smartphones running Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system to now communicate using Skype over either 3G, 4G or Wifi. The beta version of Skype for Windows Phone will be replaced by a full release sometime in April says Skype.

LG Optimus 3D Max To Cost £395 In The UK

Last week LG announced their latest 3D smartphone, the LG Optimus 3D Max, and now we have some information on how much the device will cost when it launches here in the UK.

One UK retailer just dropped us an email to let us know that the LG Optimus 3D Max will retail for £394.98 including taxes when it lands in the UK, this is for the SIM free model, so we presume it will be cheaper with the various carriers.

At the Mobile World Congress today the new Panasonic Eluga we featured last week has now been confirmed by Panasonic to be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and is fitted with NFC technology.

The Panasonic Eluga is equipped with a 5″ full touch screen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and powered by a tasty Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Its also fitted with a 8 GB integrated memory, and connectivity for Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and GPS.

As well as announcing the new budget friendly Transformer Pad 300 tablet, Asus also launched another new Android tablet, the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity.

We first saw the Asus Padfone early last year, the device was in the concept stages, and now we finally find out the full specifications on the new Asus Padfone, and the device will launch in April.

Samsung has added another new device to its Galaxy S WiFi range, the latest one is the Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2, which comes with a 4.2 inch WVGA IPS TFT touchscreen display.

The Samsung Galaxy S WiFi is powered by a single core 1GHz processor and it comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, plus two cameras, with a 2 megapixel camera on the back for photos and video and a front facing VGA camera for video chat.

Google Activating 850,000 Android Devices Per Day

Google has announced that they are now activating more than 850,000 Android device per day which is up 250 percent from the previous year and there are now more than 300 million Android devices activated.

Back in December Google announced that the company was activating over 700,000 Android devices each day, so that a jump of 150,000 activations a day in just two months, we wonder how long it will take the company to reach the 1 million activations per day mark.

You might remember back in October last year when Polycom RealPresence was launched for tablets and allowed users to connect with up to 16 other callers at the same time.

Now Polycom has launched a new solution for smartphones rolling out Polycom RealPresence Mobile. Which is now available to download from the Apple iTunes App Store for the iPhone 4S.

Smartphone Scanner Designed To Detect Harmful E. Coli Bacteria

Researchers have developed a small scanner which can be fitted to a smartphone to help detect the presence of E. Coli bacteria. The research team at the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science have created a prototype device that uses the smartphones camera to detect the presence of harmful bacteria.

Meet Borderlands 2 Character Assassin “Zer0″ (video)

Last week the release date for the new Borderlands 2 game was unveiled together with a new trailer, for the high anticipated sequel to the the Borderlands first person shooter, on September 18th 2012 in the US and September 21st globally.

ZTE has announced its first Windows Phone device that will come with the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile OS, Windows Phone Tango, and we only have a few specifications on the device at the moment.

The ZTE Orbit will come with 4GB of built in storage, plus HD voice, and a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and an LED flash, we presume the device will be capable of HD video in 720p.

Huawei has announced their latest Android smartphone the Huawei Ascend D Quad, which is a quad core smartphone that features a quad core processor with a 16 core graphics processor, and it will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Nokia just announced its latest Symbian smartphone, the Nokia 808 Purview, which comes with Symbian Belle, and a 4 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 640 x 960 pixels.

The Nokia 808 PureView also features 1.3GHz single core processor and comes with 16GB of built in storage, plus a microSD card slot that can take up to 32GB cards.

Intel is expected to launch a new low powered Intel Atom D2550 desktop anytime now. The new low powered desktop will be fitted with a Intel Atom D2550 processor that is similar to the Atom D2500 and was expected to arrive in the second week of March. As well as announcing the Nokia Lumia 900 for Europe and Canada, Nokia also announced another Windows Phone handset that we have been hearing about over the last few weeks, the Nokia Lumia 610.

Nokia announced the Nokia Lumia 900 a while back, the device was only available in the US and now the Nokia Lumia 900 LTE is headed to Canada and also a new version is headed to Europe, with a dual carrier HSPA+ version.

The Nokia Lumia 900 features a single core 1.4GHz processor, plus a rear facing 8 megapixel camera with an f2.2 Carl Zeiss lens, the rear camera is capable of recording HD video in 720p, up front we have a 1 megapixel camera with an f2.4 lens.

We have been hearing rumors about the HTC One X for the last few weeks, the device is now official, and it is HTC’s first quad core Android smartphone.

The HTC One X is powered by a quad core 1.5GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and it features a 4.6 inch HD Super LCD 2 touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

One of the biggest draws of Sony’s powerhouse handheld has been its intriguing social gaming component. However, it’s traditional social networking that is giving Vita users a hard time, as the handheld’s Facebook app has been taken down from the Store due to reports of crashes and other issues.

Indie Darling Fez Reaches End Of Four Year Development

Eagerly anticipated indie game Fez has been submitted for final XBLA approval after being announced in 2008. The innovative platformer has suffered a series of delays, but managed to draw critical attention during the long development process through impressive showings at events. Indie Game: The Movie, a documentary highlighting the game’s development has since been produced and optioned by HBO.

Double Fine’s Kickstarter Game Likely 2D Old School Adventure

Despite the revival in point and click adventure gaming spearheaded by Telltale in recent years, the genre never did seem to fire on all cylinders like in its glory days. A portion of the blame may be attributable to the shift in visual style to 3D assets despite unaltered 2D gameplay. The good news is that the $2.2 million Tim Schafer and his company have managed to raise with their massively successful Kickstarter campaign will be going towards an adventure game with an authentic aesthetic.
