Recent research shows that the server market is going strong but that one of its driving forces, shipments to cloud data centers, has slipped in the most recent quarter of 2015. In a strategic move to capitalize on trends in mobility, cloud-based Web applications and the Internet of Things (IoT), IBM has acquired software provider StrongLoop. The company specializes in application development software that facilitates API creation and deployment. People don't have nightmares about monsters anymore; they dream about hackers breaking into their computers, phones, and other devices and stealing private information. Now, there's even more to worry about. Hackers can take things one step further by attacking vehicles. In a recent case, researchers from the University of California at San Diego demonstrated how simple it is for hackers to invade vehicles through their insurance dongles, and wreak havoc with the systems.
