NBCUniversal is using the largest annual live sports viewing stage - the Super Bowl - to pitch consumers the benefit of a cable TV subscription - by offering a free, no-strings attached live stream of the game, pre-game, post-game and half-time programming, along with an episode of The BlackList. Against the backdrop of a seemingly never-ending spate of data breaches, the White House made a renewed push this week for better cybersecurity legislation, asking the new Congress to consider a comprehensive measure that addresses three major buckets of concern, including the Personal Data Notification and Protection Act (PDNPA), which would be the first federal standard for data breach notification. The proposal also addresses modernizing law enforcement to better combat cybercrime, and increased cybersecurity information sharing. OneWeb, formerly known as WorldVu Satellites, secured an undisclosed amount of funding from Qualcomm and Virgin Group, to build a low-orbiting constellation of an estimated 648 Ku-band satellites. At least 40 percent of organizations that use real-time video applications are employing it in more than a dozen use cases. Consider for a moment where subscription OTT services like Netflix, Amazon etc. would be today if it weren't for their creation of original series programming, along with releasing all episodes of a new season at once. It might seem like the dark ages of online TV. Facebook At Work is available for iOS and Android, as well as a Web-based version available directly at Facebook itself, and at last report, all involved were available as part of a limited pilot mode. With this system, employers can either establish separate links for employees to use, or employes can link the profiles together to access both work and personal Facebook all from one point. With Facebook At Work, companies essentially can create a social network that's specifically for work.
