Digital assistants have gotten rather popular-and what started with Siri for iPhone has morphed into pop-culture iterations like Dom, the Domino's Pizza ordering bot. Another bot is now dovetailing with the popular chat application Slack, to add real-time communication (RTC) voice and video features to its text-based communications platform.
Google is prepping an update for its Google Translate mobile app that can potentially turn the utility into an indispensible tool for globetrotters, by incorporating real-time language speech-to-text translations.

Intel CS for WebRTC, initially launched in June last year, offers software and service developers a kit with both server- and client-side tools for designing browser-based video conferencing capabilities.
