Health Care Call Centers Still Seeing Long Waits
Contributing Writer While most of the talk coming out of state health care call centers has been talk about how much better things are going than they did back in 2013 and the beginning of 2014, there are a number of state exchange call centers that are still encountering issues that are plenty frustrating. In Massachusetts, the problems with the health care exchange call center are so big that the state has actually extended the deadline for citizens to enroll.
One report says that as many as 33,000 people have been calling in the last few days, all with issues they cannot solve using the official website. Those calling have apparently been getting a message that thanks them for their patience and tells them their call will be answered “shortly.” The call center says the average wait time was between 15 and 30 minutes and as much as 42 percent of the callers either hung up before they talked to anyone, or they were actually disconnected.
