Good morning! Another nice day is expected in the New York area. It's almost boring how great the weather will be. Anyway, here's the news:

  1. Alibaba's IPO filing should come tonight, says Kara Swisher.
  2. For anyone following the Apple-Samsung battle, this Vanity Fair story is a must read. It gives a detailed, unflattering historical look at Samsung's illegal tactics through the years.
  3. PayPal president David Marcus wrote a blog post slamming Rakesh "Rocky" Agarwal, the former PayPal director of strategy who has been having a meltdown on Twitter.  "Now...if you're a close friend of Rocky's and you're out there, I'd strongly suggest getting to him sooner rather than later, as his behavior is extremely worrisome."
  4. Apple's new retail boss Angela Ahrendts is getting 113,334 shares of stock that vest over the next four years. At yesterday's closing price, those shares are worth $68 million.
  5. Speaking of Apple retail... Apple will reportedly roll out a new iPhone upgrade promotional event this week to boost iPhone sales. Starting May 8, Apple will email people due for upgrades.
  6. One last Apple related item: Fred Wilson believes that by 2020 Apple will not be a top 3 technology company because of its failure to understand the cloud, and internet services.
  7. Microsoft is holding an event at the end of May to announce what appears to be a smaller version of the Surface tablet.
  8. The simple argument for why Bitcoin will develop into something big: A lot of really smart people are working on it, and investing in it.
  9. The NYT claims in a trend piece that board games are still surprisingly popular despite the proliferation of technology in the world.
  10. Facebook is charging advertisers $1 million per day to run video ads, and it's making them submit their work for approval.
