It seems like every day is now some form of holiday, national recognition day or celebration (Talk Like a Pirate Day, anyone?), and today is no different – happy IoT Day! No, really. Today, April 9, is the fourth year of IoT Day, an opportunity for the Internet of Things community to join a Meetup, host a hackathon or just discuss the IoT and its implications. The event is hosted by Council, Postscapes and Zatar and features a live stream of speakers from companies like Intel, IBM, relayr, Sierra Wireless, Bosch and Cisco.
The full event schedule can be found online, and topics will cover open hardware, open software, IoT standards and protocols, connecting to the enterprise and business of IoT.

A technology called machine to machine (M2M) is powering the growth of all different types of machines, gadgets, devices, equipment and applications to talk to each other through the power of the Internet.
