One of the main complaints leveled in typical three-dimensional display technology is the need for glasses to make it work properly. In a way, wearing glasses seems to limit the watching experience rather than enhancing it the way three-dimensional (3D) technology aims to do. While the U.S. government probably doesn't care about all the time you spend on Reddit trolling cat memes while on the job, now may be the time to reel that careless Web surfing in a bit - that is, for your own country's safety. Under an executive order passed last month, the Obama Administration is expanding its cybersecurity program to include scanning of Internet traffic in the private sector. Okay, it is an experiment, but you have to give credit where it's due to the developer crowd at Google, which last week introduced World Wide Maze. In case you missed the introduction, World Wide Maze, which runs on Chrome (no surprise) is an interactive game that turns any website into a 3D maze that you then navigate by using your smartphone to roll a marble through. Today, BuzzFeed posted a very interesting infographic originally published by Marketo titled, "What Your Instagram Filter Says About You." As it turns out, the mobile app that allows the average Joe to become an amateur photographer and transforms your breakfast into a work of art can now detail what kind of person you are based on what kind of photos you snap and share. Among its 100 million monthly active users, 40 million photos taken every day and 1,000 comments per second, the question is: where do you fit in? Social media sites are as strong as their weakest search tool. Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest have all recently updated their search features to ensure users are getting a unified, simple and relevant search experience within the social networks. Verizon, the nation's sixth-largest TV provider, is considering its options when it comes to TV channel bundling. Verizon's lead programming negotiator, Terry Denson, told the Wall Street Journal that under the plan Verizon would pay only when a subscriber tunes in for at least five minutes at a stretch.
