- Twenty-nine percent of consumers who wouldn't attend a general consultation remotely said that $25 towards either the appointment copay, gym membership, or a gift card would be enough to convince them to use a telehealth service — $25 is the average copay cost for a primary care visit.
- One hundred percent of US healthcare networks surveyed in a 2018 study from the Center for Connected Medicine plan to promote health and wellness apps to consumers this year.
- Leading smartphone vendors are baking healthcare solutions into their devices. Aside from Apple's beta expansion of its Health app functionalities, Samsung's new Galaxy S9, slated for a mid-March release, will include patient-monitoring solutions for blood pressure and stress levels.
- The US government is making telehealth a priority. No fewer than 12 pieces of legislation around telehealth were brought up in 2017. This was driven by the impending expiration of some bills, as well as the need to keep up with consumer and industry demand for telehealth technology.
