| Insights Beyond the Headlines | | Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, and JPMorgan are creating a new healthcare company Last week, Amazon announced its entrance into healthcare through a partnership with JPMorgan and Berkshire Hathaway.
The goal of the partnership will be to "provide US employees and their families with simplified, high-quality and transparent healthcare at a reasonable cost."
While few details were revealed regarding how this would be accomplished, the announcement caused shares of managed-healthcare companies and pharmacy providers to dip.
This partnership marks the latest industry that Amazon looks to disrupt, following their disruption of the grocery industry last year with its Whole Foods acquisition.
