ORBCOMM Inc.’s first quarter of 2013 results are out. The global satellite data communications company, which specializes in M2M communications and solutions, saw an increase in total revenues, although product sales took a dip.
For the first quarter, service revenues were at $13.9 million, a step up from last year’s $11.5 million. Service revenue growth was slowed, however, due to the US dollar to yen exchange rate taking a hit.
Product sales had also suffered, reaching only $2.8 million, compared to last year’s $4.3 million. This, too, is affected by the less favorable dollar/yen exchange rate, although last year was boosted by a significant hardware sale to an OEM customer. Read More
