Participants in the DOE Challenge 'Build on' Energy Efficiency Achievements


This week, new U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz recognized the administration’s Better Buildings Challenge partners—including, to name just a few, Best Buy, Macy’s, Sprint, Staples ,Starbuck’s and Walgreens— for their first year of progress toward making America’s commercial and industrial buildings 20 percent more energy efficient by 2020.


Data submitted by the Challenge partners demonstrates that they have improved facility energy efficiency by more than 2.5 percent per year on average compared to their baseline years—equal to about $58 million in annual energy savings. Read More
