IBM Helps SCC Create Secure Multi-Tenancy Cloud
Europe-based IT company SCC has selected IBM (News - Alert) hardware and software to help improve its services by creating a Secure Multi-Tenancy Cloud (SMTC) for CloudStore, part of the U.K. government’s G-Cloud program.
Company officials said they expect the SMTC to launch on June 30, offering scalable services on a pay-as-you-go model.
The U.K.-hosted cloud platform, created and managed by SCC, aims to deliver a diverse set of low cost business and technical services, ranging from back office processes to specialist government services, with high levels of security for public sector organizations, according to Tracy Westall, SCC’s U.K. public sector director.
“Our relationship with IBM will deliver to G-Cloud customers a range of highly scalable, robust and secure solutions at a much reduced cost,” Westall said in a company statement. “SMEs will also be able to offer their own innovative solutions via an enterprise grade infrastructure that would previously have been out of their reach.
