Women Attempted to Smuggle Over 200 iPhones into China


Looks like even elderly women can’t be trusted, according to a recent report.

Board patrol officials in China were surprised when a group of elderly women were trying to cross the border with hundreds of beer bottles. Upon further inspection, the team realized the bottles were actually filled with iPhones and not alcohol.


The women, who were traveling from Hong Kong into Mainland China, brought “empty” beer bottles they claimed were going to be used for recycling. However, patrol officials no doubt noticed some of the bottles seemed heavier than others, which prompted a more detailed search of the items.


Inside various bottles, the patrol officials found up to three brand new iPhones. The middle of the bottle was taped and there was a thin crack as if the bottles had been cut. A grand total of 216 handsets were confiscated... Read More
