Vidyo Adds New WebRTC Functionality - WebRTC World

Yet another indication of the continued growth of WebRTC is today's announcement by Vidyo of a new release, Vidyo Server for WebRTC 3.2, which expands the support of WebRTC. The new product enables guest access for participants in a Vidyo conferencing event to use a WebRTC enabled browser. This is a clear advantage for using a Vidyo based solution for external participants as it avoids the complexity and hassle of downloading a specific client. However, the Vidyo WebRTC solution also enables applications using the Vidyo APIs to rapidly deploy to browser based participants. While this is not the first Vidyo WebRTC offer, it shows an increasing support and integration of the WebRTC paradigm into the Vidyo solution.

The pace of digital transformation is accelerating, and in this world of fast-paced change slow and steady does not win the race. For this reason, it seems logical at first to grab an off-the-shelf app. However, trying to customize it after the fact can take longer and cost more than creating your own. Next-generation custom app platforms put the power in your hands to build exactly the app you need within a reasonable time frame and without busting the budget.
New technologies take on a special focus when they have the potential to help us achieve what was once impossible. Tools to monitor our heart rates, alert us when we have new incoming communications and allow us to meet with people face to face via video conferences are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to innovation today.
Before the community pops open champagne, WebRTC features for WebKit are not in production yet, but just available for developers. How soon Apple moves a WebRTC-integrated version of Safari out for general release is an open question and dependent upon when the company plans to roll out incremental releases for OS X and iOS. We're probably at least 60 to 90 days or longer before WebRTC becomes an integral part of the production Apple ecosystem.
