But developers are also tapping into WebRTC technology for its data channels, enabling peer-to-peer multiplayer games. Data is passed back and forth between players and servers in real-time. Recently, the WebRTC Conference & Expo concluded its annual return to the stage, and in its wake provided information about a host of different products and services available in the Web-based real time communications (WebRTC) market. While there were plenty of big names on hand, one name that came out of the show with a sizable number of awards was NetSapiens, a company that showed its mettle in its line of voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and unified communications (UC) services. WebRTC based UC cloud provider Switch announced it is closing a $35 million C funding round today. Switch is known as the company making the Switch communications product for Google Apps and UberConference conferencing service. Talking to Craig Walker, Switch CEO, the company is going to use the new funding to grow the market, add more UC functionality, and move beyond the Google App environment. The interesting and nice part of open source software is that the community can act as a rapid response team. Only two days after the announcement of Firefox 38.0, Mozilla pushing the first point release to users around the world via the browser's built-in updater, availability of Mozilla Firefox 38.0.1, which fixes some problems in 38.0 for all supported platforms including GNU/Linux, Windows, and OS X, was announced. One of them as seen below is related to WebRTC. Major European operator soon to launch WebRTC services on ECT's Dialogic-driven INtellect WebRTC solution.
