Ubuntu Phone OS comes to smartphones in 2014

As we already mentioned it, Mozilla is working hard on Firefox OS, but it seems that there might be another OS that is coming to smartphones, so let's have a closer look at it.



There are several major operating systems on mobile platforms, but it seems that Canonical plans to bring Ubuntu to smartphones. According to the reports, we should see Ubuntu-powered smartphones in 2014, but we should also mention that Canonical plans to team up with Android smartphone manufacturers in order to bring you "Ubuntu on Android". With this feature, you'll be able to connect your smartphone with a monitor, keyboard and mouse, and turn it into a computer that runs on Ubuntu.

As for Ubuntu for Android, we should see a working version this year according to Canonical, but as for the Ubuntu Phone OS, we'll just have to wait 2014 in order to see it on our smartphones.
