On Thursday, Pope Benedict XVI urged Catholics to use social networks like Twitter and Facebook at the 2013 World Communications Day Message. The Pope says that social networking sites are not a virtual world that Catholics should ignore, but instead a real world they should engage in if they want to spread their faith to the next generation. Orangutans at the Smithsonian National Zoo are now using iPad apps to learn and play. The zoo has decided to launch a program called Apps for Apes, an initiative from the conservation organization Orangutan Outreach, which has provided tablet devices for the primates in 12 other zoos, including zoos in Houston, Atlanta, Toronto, Utah and Milwaukee.
