The NFL's strange overtime rules didn't even allow the opportunity for Patrick Mahomes, the likely league MVP, to take the field and try to tie up the Patriots in the AFC Championship.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs put a scare into the Patriots, but Tom Brady was too composed in the fourth quarter and overtime, leading the comeback, then game-winning drives.
Referees reviewed that Julian Edelman missed touching the ball by just a sliver, but then, moments later, the Chiefs intercepted Tom Brady and took the lead for the first time.
Apparently referees told Nickell Robey-Coleman that the ball was tipped, while Sean Payton said he was told that the defender arrived at the same time as the ball.
