Good morning! This is the tech news you need to know this Wednesday.

  1. Internal Facebook documents show it gave tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft privileged access to user data, which Facebook has not previously disclosed. Documents obtained by The New York Times reportedly show that Facebook gave tech giants intrusive access to users' data, including handing over users' private messages to Netflix and Spotify.
  2. President Trump raged at Twitter with a baseless claim that it has been tampering with his followers because of political bias. The president has actually seen a healthy increase in followers since the start of October.
  3. Tinder fired its VP of communications and a 'number' of other employees who participated in a $2 billion lawsuit against the dating app's owners. In August a group of 10 current and former Tinder employees sued the dating app's parent company IAC and Match Group for $2 billion, alleging the startup was undervalued on purpose to devalue early employee options.
  4. Facebook now makes it impossible for users to avoid being tracked for advertising purposes, according to a report."There is no way for people to opt out of using location for ads entirely," a Facebook spokesperson said told Gizmodo on Tuesday.
  5. One of Tesla's senior directors has left the company to work for Airbnb. Dan Kim, a former Tesla senior director of global sales, marketing, and delivery has left the automaker for Airbnb, Bloomberg first reported.
  6. Apple poached another Tesla engineer, fuelling more speculation about an Apple car. Andrew Kim worked on numerous Tesla vehicles including the Model 3, prompting speculation that Apple could be working once again on making cars.
  7. SpaceX is reportedly raising $500 million with help from Tesla's largest shareholder. SpaceX is eyeing a $500 million funding round that values the company at more than $30 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported.
  8. Chipmaker Graphcore is now worth $1.7 billion after raising $200 million from Microsoft and BMW. Graphcore, which makes computer chips for artificial intelligence applications, is now a unicorn.
  9. The controversial engineer at the center of the Uber-Waymo case claims he drove across the country in a self-driving car. Former Uber engineer Anthony Levandowski told The Guardian that he drove across the country in a vehicle equipped with autonomous driving technology.
  10. A former NASA engineer made an explosive glitter bomb to shock parcel thieves and dedicated it to Kevin from "Home Alone." Mark Rober, a former NASA engineer, built a hi-tech glitter-bomb prank targeting parcel thieves.
