About six months ago, we wrote an article noting that Steve Wozniak would be keynoting at ITEXPO Las Vegas 2013 - and we noted why we were personally excited about this. We suggested that Steve would be historical, futuristic and transcendent. Well, six months have flown by and this morning the Woz launched his keynote.
Although a lot of the discussion surrounding Skype involves its impact on the enterprise, the fact remains that it is also a popular consumer product. As such, it is often updated with more consumer-oriented features such as, for example, the ability to make 3D calls.
Verizon and Vodafone seem to once again be talking about allowing Verizon Wireless to acquire Vodafone's entire stake in Verizon Wireless.
One of the delights of ITEXPO is having the ability in real time to marvel at the ingenuity of established players and entrepreneurs. This goes not just for the exhibit floor but in particular listening to the visions and ambitions of early-stage companies seeking assistance in creating the future.
TMC CEO Rich Tehrani led an intriguing keynote panel discussion at ITEXPO on August 27, 2013 that focused on Technology Innovation in Today's Cloud and Mobile World. The panel itself consisted of what I will refer to as six known contrarians - not only to ourselves but to the tech world at large. We can certainly say that Tehrani, shown below, had his hands full trying to contain them throughout the session. We have our hands full as well trying to summarize otherwise detailed and very stimulating thoughts and ideas.
A new product from AVer Information Inc. Americas has made sub-$1,000 videoconferencing a reality for SMBs, as well as for enterprises looking for affordable huddle-room solutions.
As soon as Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced his retirement, pundits and Wall Street couldn't drive fast enough to throw him under the bus.
Electric cars aren't selling that well - with the huge exception of Tesla, which approaches this market more like a tech company. An article in Green Car Reports on why Tesla has succeeded while others have failed got me thinking.
