If you read this column regularly you know I am an advocate for standards and certification. Sometimes the two are aligned but often certification is a laggard for what can already be a slow process.
When they are aligned, the benefits are real, substantial and ongoing. Having worked for a standards company, I knew that often the certification process was viewed as problematic, but I also knew that it matched well to the implementation problems our customer’s experienced.
