I read a few digital magazines on my iPad and other devices and for the most part, I tend to prefer paper. I’m all for digital books since they don’t have photos, but when it comes to magazines, I prefer glossy paper. When Apple unveiled its Newsstand app a while back that sold full color versions of print magazines it was definitely a step up.

iSuppli watches all kinds of technology markets for things running from computers and tablets to TVs and more. The company has published its latest research that looks at flat-panel TV shipments. Flat-panel TVs include LCD sets, plasma TVs, and rear projection TVs. For the first time in the history, the market research firm iSuppli is predicting shipments of flat-panel TVs will fall.

Box OneCloud Brings Cloud Storage To The iPad

Box has today announced new features for its OneCloud app which has now be integrated with iPad applications to enable users to be able to store import files within the cloud.

The Box OneCloud app, will showcase over 30 applications designed to work with the Box service, and Box will be rolling out integration with four "premier" apps including Quickoffice, Adobe Echosign, Nuance PaperPort Notes, and PDF Expert.

Nokia To Launch Two Budget MeeGo Smartphones?

According to a recent report from the guys over at Netbook News, Nokia is working on two budget MeeGo based smartphones, which will slot into Nokia’s Next Billion strategy for developing markets.

Nokia are apparently developing two budget devices with MeeGo as their OS for their developing markets, and because the OS has low specification demands it may be better suited for the task than Microsoft’s Windows Phone.

In a recent interview Hillcrest Labs the creators of gesture based technology called FreeSpace. Has revealed that their new FreeSpace motion engine technology will be arriving in smartphones and tablets by the first quarter of 2013.

Nokia Lumia 610c CDMA Windows Phone Announced For China

As well as announcing the new Nokia Lumia 800c for China, Nokia also announced another CDMA based Windows Phone device, the Nokia Lumia 610c.

We saw the Nokia Lumia 610 back in February and now the device is headed to China with CDMA as the Nokia Lumia 610C and it will be available with China Telecom.

Researchers at the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences in Japan, have developed a tiny camera that takes photos using your hands as a frame for the photo, and the device is called the Ubi-Camera.

The video below shows the Ubi-Camera in action, and this tiny camera features a range sensor, and the framing of the photo is determined on the distance between the camera and the person shooting the photos face.

One of the new smartphones that Samsung showed off at this years MWC, was the Samsung Galaxy Beam which comes with built in projector, the device is expected to launch in the UK in July and it is now available to pre-order.

The Samsung Galaxy Beam features a 4 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 400 pixels, a 5 megapixel rear camera for video and photos and a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera for video chat, plus a built in video projector that can project images and video up to 50 inches.

HTC Working On iPod Touch Competitor?

It looks like HTC may be working on their own device to take on Apple’s iPod Touch, according to some patents which were discovered by Patentbolt, and can be seen in the photo below.

Hasbro Denied Injunction Against Asus Transformer Prime Tablet

Hasbro launched a lawsuit against Asus last year, claiming that Asus’s Transformer Prime tablet was confusing to consumers at that the name of the device was infringing on Hasbro’s copyrights.

It looks like Hasbro has now lost the first part of its case against Asus, with the judge dealing with the case ruling that Hasbro had not managed to demonstrate that the Transformer Prime tablet would be confused with Hasbro’s Transformer toys.

Amazon Kindle Touch Lands In The UK Next Month

Amazon has announced that their new Kindle Touch will go on sale in the UK in April, the device will be available in the UK from the 27th of April and will come in two flavors, a WiFi only model and a WiFi and 3G model.

The WiFi Kindle Touch will retail for £109 and the WiFi and 3G Kindle Touch will retail for £169, and both devices are now available to pre-order from Amazon here in the UK.

Yesterday we heard that Australian government were planning to take Apple to court over the 4G claims of their new iPad in Australia, where the device had been advertised as being 4G capable, although it wouldn’t actually work on Australia’s 4G networks.

Now Apple is apparently going to offer any customers in Australia who bought the new iPad a full refund if they are not happy with the device, and they have also updated their website in Australia to confirm that whilst the iPad has 4G it can not run on the Tesltra LTE network in the country.

The combination of both the tubes and the digital amp which has been added to reduce noise distortion, has been designed to create a much more natural sound.

Samsung Sells 5 Million Galaxy Notes In 5 Months

Samsung has announced that it has now sold 5 million of its Galaxy note smartphone around the world since the device was launched last October, and it took Samsung just 5 months to reach the milestone.

The Galaxy Note seems to be becoming a popular device, and with its large 5.3 inch display it is more of a cross between a smartphone and a tablet.

Nokia Lumia 800c CDMA Windows Phone Announced For China

Nokia has today announced its first CDMA Windows Phone smartphone for China, the Nokia Lumia 800C which will be available in China with mobile carrier China Telecom.

The Nokia Lumia 800c is basically a CDMA version of the Nokia Lumia 800, and the device comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED ClearBlack multi-touch display, with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

Apple Responds To Reported iPad Battery Issues

Since the launch of thew new iPad 3 a number of users have noticed that the new iPad’s battery continues to charge even when at 100 percent when the device is plugged in.

It takes more than a little courage to admit that you don’t know how to do something. It takes even more to go ahead and do it anyway. Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinsky has revealed in a recent interview that Gears of War would have ended up a serious epic more in the vein of Band of Brothers than camp action flicks like Predator, if only the studio knew how to make that happen.

Nintendo Wii U Close to Current Gen Consoles, Says Darksiders 2 Dev

It looks like Nintendo are more than content to stay behind the technological curve with their “next-gen” console as well, banking on the success of the console’s tablet controller to carry it through. Darksiders 2 developer Vigil has been putting the Wii U through its paces and while it’s certainly a lot more capable than its predecessor, it doesn’t seem to have stunned them with its graphical prowess.
