Since 2009, we at Business Insider have obsessively honed digital storytelling for an audience of professionals.

And in just seven years, we've become the #1 business news web site in the US and the UK.

But there is a lot more to life than business.

There is a world to travel. There are strange and delicious foods to eat. There are relationships to build. There is art to create. There are distances to run and ropes to swing. There are wrongs to right.

There is adventure!

And so, the idea for a new publication, called INSIDER, was born.

In August 2015, INSIDER came to life on social media. We began to tell stories for, by, and about people who seize life rather than letting it happen to them.

These are the kinds of people who spend 20 years perfecting the art of the rainbow bagel.

They tube through abandoned irrigation ditches in Hawaii.

They invent the perfectly humane way to catch a spider.

They run for Congress at age 25.

They quit their jobs to travel the globe.

They lead massive efforts to clean the oceans before they turn 20.

They find the best dessert in the city and put it on Instagram before anyone else.

We love telling these kinds of stories and people love hearing them.

In only 8 months, INSIDER has amassed a social following of 10 million people. Our videos reached more than 500 million people last month, and they were watched more than 1 billion times.

Today, we're proud to launch INSIDER on the web. Find us at thisisinsider.com.

We're thrilled to bring our stories to a huge new audience. The web is a glorious storytelling medium. It's accessible and shareable everywhere. It's perfect for our video stories, posts, long reads, photo essays, giant stills, and so many GIFs.

At INSIDER, we believe that life is an adventure. This is the next step in ours.

Let's go!
