Some of the messaging about M2M seems to be suggesting that the Internet of Things gives us all access to a smarter planet, while other companies explanations sound like we have everything on Intranets taking advantage of connectivity, but isolated in accessibility. When we use these terms, are there advantages and disadvantages? Do these various terms suggest architectures or is the differentiation moot?
