According to new research put out by the analysts over at display search, the days of the notebook PC may be numbered. For many years devices of this kind, be it a laptop, a netbook or an ultrabook, were the most shipped devices on the technology market, but they are soon to be dethroned. If the reports are true, by 2016 more tablets will be shipped then notebook style computers.
In the analysis Richard Shim, a senior analyst at NPD DisplaySearch, explained some reasons why tablets will be dominating the future, “Consumer preference for mobile computing devices is shifting from notebook to tablet PCs, particularly in mature markets. While the lines between tablet and notebook PCs are blurring, we expect mature markets to be the primary regions for tablet PC adoption.
