Mobile Internet Users Continue to Take Advantage of Mobile Banking


Mobile banking is currently one of the hottest trends in online banking. Now that almost everyone has a smartphone or tablet, consumers have taken advantage of the convenience they offer by completing more tasks on the go. Numerous studies about mobile banking usage and statistics have already been published and recent research from YouGov indicates that there is still plenty of room for growth.


According to the research, commissioned by mobile Web and app vendor Antenna, the company found that around a quarter of people living in the UK that use mobile Internet also take advantage of mobile banking services. The company said mobile banking is most popular for users between 24 and 34 years old. The research shows that 33 percent in that age range regularly use their mobile phones to access their bank account.


Helen Gradwell, writer for Think Money, explained further saying, “People seem to use – or what to use – their mobiles for simple banking tasks. Forty-six percent would most like to use mobile banking to check their balance, 31 percent to view their transactions, and 27 percent to transfer money from one of their accounts to another. A quarter of those asked already use – or would like to use – their mobile to pay their bills, and 20 percent to transfer money to third parties,” said Gradwell... Read More
