Involved in island disputes with several of its neighbors, Japan is developing a standoff supersonic glide bomb to defend its islands from invasion. Given tensions in the East China Sea over the Senkaku/Diaoyu islands, the weapon would likely be deployed to fend off a Chinese attack.
