Lyft reached a new milestone as it gains ground on Uber

Lyft has announced that it now completes one million rides per day.

While Uber reached this milestone over two years ago, Lyft's accomplishment is indicative of its strong growth and status as a mounting threat to the world's most valuable tech startup.

The company is seeing rapid growth that's opening the door for further expansion. Lyft has posted 48 consecutive months of ride growth including a 137% rise in bookings in February 2017, compared with the same month a year prior.
