Yahoo Hacks and Exploding Batteries...Time to Head to Mars - TechZone360

Last week, Yahoo confirmed at least 500 million user accounts were compromised by a data breach in 2014. The attack was the largest security breach ever disclosed to the public, revealing customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers, birth dates and, in some cases, security questions and answers.
Samsung was really the only company in recent years to truly threaten Apple successfully; granted, they did so largely with Google's help. But Apple had successfully taken on Microsoft, HP, Dell, Palm, Nokia, Motorola, and Research in Motion, among others, and tossed them aside almost casually even though the massed resources of those firms easily overwhelmed the then still recovering Apple. Only Samsung hit them where it hurt, but the recent Galaxy Note 7 Disaster showcases that Samsung has an Achilles' heel and this unprecedented weakness could not only prevent the firm from prevailing against an ever weaker Apple, but it could eventually end it.
SpaceX CEO and nerd-god Elon Musk put forth his architecture for mankind to colonize Mars and potentially other bodies in our solar system on Tuesday, September 27. As Musk stood in the spotlight describing a huge rocket to transport up to 100 people at a time to Mars, Blue Origin started talking about its own potential to move beyond the Earth.
To get back on their feet, Twitter is reportedly seeking an acquisition deal that would value them at $30 billion. There are a few contenders already, and Disney is contemplating throwing its hat into the ring as well.
I'm at the IBMEdge conference this week, and one of the topics that came up at lunch today was how robotics are going to dramatically change how and when we buy goods and consume services. It is really going to seem like a strange new world where we may never need to drive to work, go to the store, or physically do a lot of the jobs that people do today.
Last summer, Microsoft shook up their Windows design with the release of Windows 10. They offered the update to users for free for a year, giving everyone the opportunity to try out the new design. When it was first released, there were quite a few issues that needed fixing. Over time, though, these problems were resolved and eventually more and more people got the confidence to download the update. Since then, there has been what seems like a never ending narrative surrounding Windows 10-some people hate it, and others love it; I fall into the latter category. Now, to commemorate the one year anniversary of the release, Microsoft has unveiled the Windows 10 Anniversary update.
