A recent news report indicates that Indian telecom operators are more willing than ever to invest in cloud computing initiatives that seek to help them more quickly release products and services while harnessing analytics that will provide information about their subscribers.
A recent story by the India Times says IBM (News
- Alert) is seeing its clients disrupt the market by using the cloud. They are leveraging IBM cloud management software such as its SmartCloud Orchestrator to support their existing business models while also using it to help innovate. Suhas Bhide, an executive of Global Delivery at IBM in India, spoke to the India Times about the situation in which it finds itself and its clients.
"They [mobile phone operators] have realized that their investment in cloud strategy will be very useful for their overall service portfolio," Bhide said. "We have telecom clients who are innovating in one space and disrupting in another space, leveraging the cloud technology."

Orchestrator works by allowing businesses to manage their public, private, and hybrid clouds in a consolidated user interface that is meant to be easy to use. It works in tandem with the IBM Platform Resource Scheduler to allocate resources from OpenStack cloud environments to make sure businesses can get performance when and where they need it.
