Good morning! Welcome to Friday! We're looking at a pretty warm, sunny day in New York. Let's look at the news:

  1. Apple has decided to confront the iPhone 6 Plus bending story head-on by inviting the press to see the facility where it subjects iPhones to stress tests.
  2. Apple also said that only 9 people have complained about the iPhone 6 Plus.
  3. Marc Andreessen went on a big tweetstorm to say that when the market turns, a lot of startups are going to be vaporized. It's an interesting note of caution from an investor who has been incredibly optimistic and positive about the current state of technology startups.
  4. We spoke with a guy who has built a $12,000 fortress in the game Clash of Clans. He explained why the game is so addictive.
  5. This is Ello, an ad-free, paid alternative to Facebook that's gaining traction suddenly. Most of these Facebook alternatives die out. We expect the same to happen to Ello, but you never know!
  6. Josh Williams, a mid-level manager overseeing quality assurance, is being blamed for Apple's massive error with iOS 8.0.1, which bricked people's phones. He was also in charge of charge of quality control for maps, and we know how that went.
  7. Speaking of Apple's messy iOS 8 updates... it released iOS 8.0.2, which supposedly fixes problems.
  8. Steve Ballmer is talking about being the owner of the Clippers. One small thing of note: He plans to get rid of all Apple products the team uses.
  9. The district attorneys in San Francisco and Los Angeles are accusing Sidecar, Lyft, and Uber of violating California business laws. Sidecar is being accused of misleading users about how thoroughly it checks the backgrounds of its drivers.
  10. The director of the FBI is "very concerned" that Apple and Google are making their mobile phones more secure.
