| | Latest Featured Articles The WebRTC world is evolving quickly, becoming a hot topic in all communications circles. Much of the conversation (including the agenda at WebRTC Conference & Expo III) will continue to focus on the benefits of WebRTC and implementation from a user perspective. Indeed, the debate has, from the outset, been about which verticals or industry segments will benefit most from WebRTC, and one obvious answer is all of us as end users. I am still ranting against the thinking that Google could possibly have any interest in killing Skype as, in my humble opinion, the whole idea is completely off the rails, ignoring completely everything that led to the creation of Skype. The many demos on offer at the WebRTC Conference and Expo earlier this year were, according to TMC executive editor Paula Bernier, often focused on simplicity, interoperability, rich media and fun. Web-based real time communications (WebRTC) is widely coming into its own as a whole new paradigm when it comes to communications in general, offering users and developers alike a host of new options and new possibilities in most every field from conferencing to gaming.
